Is there anything more fun than seeing and ugly house "before" any work was done and then seeing the "after" photos? You don't have to do any of the hard work- no vision necessary, no painting, no sweat, no money! Just an admiring look.
In this house, everything had to go! I took it down to the guts and did a little cleaning and freshening.
I turned this 80's beauty (complete with floral ceramic tiles and faux leaded glass doors to show off the disaster inside the cabinets ) and turned the kitchen into something clean and fresh. Yes, I am still waiting to go to Morocco and pick out some fabulous cement tiles for the backsplash, but let's leave the brainstorming for another post.
Before Kitchen
After Kitchen
I feel like I can breathe again!! The kitchen felt so dark before. Tearing out the upper cabinets and installing a single floating shelf brought the light in. Now, every time I enter the kitchen, I look at the pretty plant, antlers and horn candle holders. I remember the trip to Scottsdale, Arizona to pick the horns and the adventures in India that lead me to the candle holders. Yep. Joy.
Before Living Room
After Living Room
Hmm. Does it look better in photo #1 or #2?? There is nothing like a little JalapeƱo Pepper paint to spice up your life!
I will take you on a journey to see MY journey. The ever changing world of my home:) Kitchen and living room are a good start!!
xoxo,
OK, When I read your personal editorial, I almost died. You nailed yourself to the "T". You have been known to ask a neighbor or two to help you move something! Being your personal Sherpa in Malaysia is one memory I will never forget. My fingers are still numb from those heavy fabrics. I look forward to you turning my warm, traveled house and adding some jalapeno!!
