One Room Challenge- Week 6
OK- Got a bed! AND, it is actually in the room! This is a queen sized bed with a trundle that I designed and had made. I used fuchsia linen fabric backed (for teenage abuse!) and I made sure that the skirt was permanently attached (no crooked skirts!) The footboard is low so one could jump on the bed from anywhere in the room and not kill themselves:-)
Did you guys ever do flips onto your beds? I actually did that yesterday with my daughter's friend. She is 10. Yes, every once in a while, I have to prove to myself that I can do those things. I am the one who takes the kids to the trampoline birthday parties and does flips. Do I injure myself? You bet!! Does it drive my husband crazy? You bet!! But it is so fun, I can't resist:-) I digress.
So what I can't show you is the trundle. The trundle mechanism showed up late as did the mattress. So, take a look at the awful photos I took and imagine good photos, a better made bed and a pink quilt on the bed. Then, you will know what the reveal looks like. Well, not so sure about the photos being good, but you get the picture!!
Why does this photo make the bed look better??
Make sure you stop by and see these awesome bloggers' progress!!!
xoxo,
I love the bed and want the entire room for myself! Really fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI love that you had the skirt attached so it would stay straight, genius. The scale of that headboard is stunning. Of course I jumped on the bed. My brother and I broke a bed frame by jumping on it. If I went to a trampoline park now, I would need to go to the chiropractor immediately after. But, I probably would do that.
ReplyDeleteDARLING...lucky little princess!!!
ReplyDeleteThat headboard is just to die for!
ReplyDeleteI want that bed. This is such a beautiful room and I love the balance of colors and textures.
ReplyDeleteBonne nuit, indeed ;) Have been away, and just got back. WOW!! Lots of progress! Awesome work, as always, Kathleen. A fabulous addition to your portfolio. Lucky girl to have such a stylish and cool bedroom.

ReplyDeletewhat a gorgeous bed, and I love the footboard, too. very pretty. Sounds like you designed it to last many flips and sleepovers! How wonderful for your daughter that you are so clever. Now if we could invent a fabric that would resist nail polish, right? Good luck with the rest of the project. Can't wait to see it next week!
